One of the great benefits of working at a university is the many opportunities employees have to continue to learn. UM's generous tuition waiver and flexible course schedules facilitate lifelong learning.

Tuition Waiver

The faculty/staff tuition waiver offers a rich opportunity to grow your skill set. Permanent employees working at least .75 FTE may have the tuition for eligible UM courses waived and pay only fees to access courses. Please consult the Human Resource Services web page for more information on eligibility and required approvals. UM also offers a dependent tuition waiver to qualifying employees.

Online Degree and Certificate Programs

UM offers a wide range of programs that can be completed online, from microcredentials and certificates to Bachelor and Graduate degree programs. 

Summer Learning Opportunities

Summer is a great time to achieve your learning goals! With more than 850 courses offered in different 10 and 5-week formats, consider taking a summer course. Get started on a new certificate, undergraduate program, master’s degree, or doctoral coursework. Summer sessions are flexible and over 250 courses are offered online. Browse course offerings and pursue your educational goals starting this summer. UM Financial Education Program Workshops

The UM Financial Education program works to empower the UM community (including employees!) to make informed financial choices and take action to improve their present and long-term financial well-being.
