Montana Public Health Training Center presents a day of wellness activities to help you start your semester off on a balanced foot!

Where: Payne Family Native American Building

When: January 10th, 10am-2pm

Snacks and beverages will be offered at no cost throughout the day. Grab a treat and then visit our vendor booths in the lobby!

Registration is not required, but most of our sessions have occupancy limits, so signing up ahead of time gives you the greatest chance of availability.

Emotional Intelligence Sessions

With Roni Johnson

(50-min sessions) Every day in work and in life we must navigate our emotional experiences, and the emotional experiences of others, to accomplish our goals and progress in our roles. This session will address the power of self- and other-awareness, how to utilize it to self-regulate as we move through our experiences, and how with deliberate practice and training, we can enhance our Emotional Intelligence to improve satisfaction in our personal and professional lives.

Available at 10am and 11am.


With Jen Racicot

(50-min sessions) Activate you inner-artist with art teacher and counselor Jen Racicot. No experience needed! Materials will be set up for free-form art processing. Oil paint sticks, watercolor, chalk and oil pastels will be available to get creative with. Enjoy the process of your own vision or art instruction from a professional artist and art teacher. Get creative and curious with sessions available in the morning and afternoon.

Available at 11am and 1pm.

Mindfulness Sessions 

With Jen Racicot

(30-min sessions) Nationally certified counselor Jen Racicot facilitates a “grounding-visualization” throughout the day with bilateral sounds. These mindfulness sessions are an opportunity to relax, allow the body to let go some of the holiday stress and re-set the nervous system out of a hyper-arousal state (red zone) and move into a parasympathetic system (green zone). Come take some time for yourself and rest into a mindful state.

Available at 10am and 12pm.

Sound Bath Sessions

With Lydia Czech

(30-min sessions) Join Lydia for a guided relaxation supported by the soothing sounds of antique Himalayan singing bowls, chimes, and other vibrational instruments. For the best possible experience, it is recommended to wear comfortable clothes, and bring any items to help yourself settle in (yoga mat, pillows, blankets, etc.).

Available at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm and 1:30pm.

Dog Therapy

Join us in the lobby of the Payne building to spend some quality time with a furry friend! Petting animals is a proven way to reduce stress and improve mental health. A dog will be present from 10am-2pm!


The bonfire will be burning by 10am. Come warm yourself and enjoy some s'mores while enjoying the snowy atmosphere. Located on the southeast side of the Payne Building.

Chair Massage

With Daniel Kay

Sign up for a 20 minute chair massage with our licensed massage therapist, melting away any tension you may have, just in time for the new semester.

Yoga Sessions

(60-min sessions) Round out your day of wellness with some relaxing movement.
