Performing Ensembles

We have music majors, double majors, minors and students studying completely separate degrees who want to remain engaged in the arts. Enjoy thrilling performances, traveling tours, and lots of peer interaction when you join University of Montana ensembles.

Open to students from any major. Auditions occur the weekend before classes to determine placement in the Symphonic Wind Ensemble. Students not chosen for Symphonic Wind Ensemble will automatically be placed in Concert Band. Music majors must take the audition. Non-music majors wishing to play in Concert Band do not need to audition. Contact Dr. James Smart for more information. 

Grizzly Marching Band comes with a stipend of $1000 each fall semester. No audition necessary for admittance. Contact Dr. Kevin Griggs for more information.
