ASUM Bear Necessities (Basic Needs Agency)
For students experiencing basic needs insecurity. The ASUM Bear Necessities agency serves as a resource for students experiencing any basic needs or insecurities. The goal is to close the loop in resources by becoming a one-stop shop for questions regarding housing insecurity, food insecurity, homelessness, and more. Open Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM

UM Food Pantry
For students experiencing food insecurity, the UM food pantry is a service that provides food assistance, free personal care products, and SNAP application assistance to students, faculty, staff, and the broader Missoula community. The main food pantry is open Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 11:00-3:00. grab and go shelf outside the Pantry door after hours.

• TRIO Student Support Services, Aber Hall 3rd Floor.
• UM VETS Office.
• American Indian Student Services (AISS).
• Student Lounge Alexander Blewett III School of Law.
• College of Health and Sciences on the 2nd floor across from the student lounge.

The Associated Students of the University of Montana (ASUM) Child Care, Preschool, and Family Resources offers affordable, quality care for your child while you attend The University of Montana. Serving UM students since 1970, ASUM Child Care works towards providing and promoting quality early childhood care and education.

UM Housing
UM Housing provides safe, clean, healthy, and affordable living and learning facilities that foster an inclusive community living environment for students, staff, faculty, and guests. UM Housing manages three areas: Residence Halls, Lewis and Clark Village, and University Villages - which provide a variety of housing options for single students, students with dependents, and University guests. Services provided in these facilities support and nurture personal development and educational experiences at the University of Montana.

  • Missoula Housing Authority: Providing quality housing solutions for low-income and middle-income households in Missoula and the surrounding area
  • Poverello Center: providing food, shelter, and hope to Missoula's homeless and hungry. 
  • The Salvation Army: Exists to meet human needs wherever, whenever, and however we can.
  • YWCA: Ada’s Place Housing Programs aim to help homeless families work towards self-sufficiency and independence. (The YWCA holds a Housing Orientation every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. This orientation is for anyone in a YWCA housing program, or for anyone interested in learning more)
  • ASUM Legal Services
  • For help negotiating with landlords, information about your rights as a tenant, and other legal assistance. Open Mon-Fri 9-4
