What is Banner
UM Faculty and Staff use the Banner system for key administrative functions and data management. Banner is a web-based, graphic user interface that enables employees to process everything from payroll to finances to student records.
UM has installed the following Banner modules:
- Accounts Receivable
- Financial Aid
- Human Resources

Off-Campus Banner Access
As of mid-December 2016, off-campus access to Banner has been restricted for security reasons. Users attemping to access Banner from home or another office will experience a "Page Can't Be Displayed" warning error. IT Security requires that all users in need of VPN access submit a Request Form in order to regain off-campus use of Banner.
Several Banner courses are offered each semester. The training schedule and registration process are available online by clicking on “Register for Training” below. New Banner users – In order to obtain a Banner account you must complete the Banner Basics course.
