Educational Outreach

Welcome to The University of Montana's Department of Educational Outreach. Through Extended Courses, Extended Degree Programs, Summer Programs, UMOnline and Wintersession, Educational Outreach provides traditional educational opportunities to students limited by time, place and outside commitments. Programs and courses are delivered at alternative times and through a variety of formats that allow students access to Continuing Education.

Extended Courses
Extended Courses offers academic credit courses and programs in diverse disciplines. Through its partnerships with sponsoring agencies, school district and associations, Extended Courses serves local, state, national and international audiences. Recertification opportunities for educators are available year-round. www.umt.edu/ce/extended

Extended Degree Programs
Designed to meet the needs of students who work during the day and/or live outside Missoula, The University of Montana delivers programs to locations throughout Montana and beyond using combinations of traditional classroom, videoconferencing and Internet instruction. Programs are taught by UM faculty and are equivalent to those offered on campus. Classes typically meet during evenings or on weekends, and they are offered every semester. Students enrolled in Extended Degree Programs enjoy access to a wide variety of student services including the UM-M Mansfield Library's distance education library services and UM-M's admission, Cyberbear, financial aid and career services. Access to several campus services such as Griz Card and athletic facilities may also be obtained with an additional fee. www.umt.edu/ce/external

If you haven't attended Summer Semester, you'll be surprised to discover a relaxed campus, small class sizes and many recreational activities.
