A Montana Board of Regents policy prohibits the consumption of alcoholic beverages on property belonging to the Montana University System except as expressly permitted or authorized by the President in connection with a substantive event.

It is the policy of The University of Montana-Missoula to comply with applicable laws pertaining to the sale, possession, and consumption of alcoholic beverages and to foster responsible attitudes toward alcohol among the members of the University community, including students, faculty, staff, and visitors. No event involving the service of alcoholic beverages may take place on the campus without the prior written approval of the President.
