Dr. Allitt is an Englishman who for twenty years has taught American history to American students. His recently published book, I’m the Teacher, You’re the Student: A Semester in the University Classroom, is based on his life as a teacher in America. In his lecture, he will comment on the relatively poor academic performance of American schoolchildren.
In addition, Professor Allitt will give a faculty-student seminar that afternoon entitled "The Transformation of American Conservatism, 1955-2001" from 3:10-4:30 P.M. in Gallagher Business Building 123.
