Teaching Experience

Before coming to the Center for Children, Families and Workforce Development, Carol spent the last 23 years working in schools developing and implementing school mental health services. She began her career as a school psychologist at the Bitterroot Valley Education Cooperative (BVEC)-the first educational agency to become a licenced mental health center. She became the Special Service Coordinator where she managed school mental health programs including Coprehensive School and Community Treatment (CSCT). In her tenure at BVEC, she worked with the state OPI and DPHHS to create the CSCT model. She also worked on State Leadership Teams to support implementation of then Montana Behavior Initiative (MBI) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). Carol then moved to the Missoula County Public Schools where she was the project director of a $1.2 million grant to integrate CSCT services with MBI practices. At MCPS she also was the project director of a $1.4 million grant 21st Century grant to provide afterschool services and lead district efforts to implement MTSS, PAX Good Behavior Game and student wellness practices. Carol is also a national PAX Good Behavior Game trainer.
