Faculty International Activity Award

Program Information

Offered on an annual basis and funded by the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Faculty International Activity Award presents faculty with unique opportunities for professional development and personal enrichment overseas. Participation in this program has no effect on sabbatical eligibility. This award is for international activities ranging between 3-12 months.

UM Faculty exchanges are presently available with many of UM's partner universities but the International Committee will consider applications for exchanges with institutions other than those on the formal list of exchange partners. In such cases, the applicant should clearly describe how their visit will foster collaborative research and creative activity at the university level.

Awardees are required to comply with UM's travel guidelines and procedures and all UM Faculty and staff traveling abroad are required to have health insurance.

  • Deadline Extended: Applications are due by 12:00 noon on Monday, November 27, 2023. Please email your completed proposal as a PDF file to global.engagement@umontana.edu with the subject line reading "(Your Last Name)_Faculty International Activity Awards." Late proposals will not be considered
