Baucus Leaders Montana

Note: due to popular demand, the application deadline for Summer 2024 has been extended to December 18, 2023!

The Baucus Leaders MT program is rooted in Max Baucus' home state, which he represented for 36 years as a U.S. Senator. Every summer we place exceptional undergraduate and graduate students in internships at Montana-based governmental and nonprofit offices for project-based learning experiences.

Since 2021, our Baucus Leaders MT have worked 8-10 hours per week for the City of Missoula, University of Montana's American Indian Governance Institute, the Montana Nonprofit Association, Missoula County, and the Montana League of Cities & Towns, among others.

Project work begins on or around June 1 and end on or around August 1. Baucus Leaders MT are given a $3,000 stipend to defray associated costs during their internship.
