New Students

Ready to Sign Up?

Applying to college or any program can be confusing, but we are here to help! If at any point in the process you need assistance, please feel free to email our office at DualEnrollment@UMontana.edu. Please make sure to check your emails frequently, if we have questions we will email you. The following is a general timeline of what new students should expect after applying.

New Student Timeline:

  • Fill out and submit the online application (be sure to have your social security number and parent/guardian emails handy)
  • Fill out the Course Request form. 
  • Once admitted you will receive a letter of acceptance from Admissions.
  • Our office will register you as long as there is availability in the course you requested.
  • Once registered, our office will send you an email letting you know that you are registered and what your next steps will be.
  • Students should log in to CyberBear and confirm their Registration. 

Application

New students should fill out our online application, Apply Now. Below you will find instructions on how to apply.

For the online application:

  • Respond to the first question Are you a Montana High School/Home School student seeking to earn college credit through the UM Dual Enrollment Program before you graduate High School? by selecting Yes. Complete the application creation and click submit, this will initiate an email. 
  • Open the email from the University of Montana (BeAGriz@umontana.edu) with your application login details. 
  • Create an application account password (record this password for later).
  • Under Your Applications click on the Dual Enrollment Application and click Open Application.
  • Complete all application sections.
    • If you are under 18 years old then you will need to add a Parent/Guardian under the Approvals section. To do this you will click on Add Additional Reference and fill out your parent/guardians information. Please let your approver know that they should expect an email from BeAGriz@umontana.edu.
    • The final step is to Review and press Submit Application. If there are any errors they will be highlighted. You will need to fix those errors before you can submit your application. Next you will fill out the course selection.

Course Selection

New students and continuing/returning students should fill out our online course selection form for each term they wish to take courses through our Dual Enrollment Program. Below you will find instructions on how to apply.

For the course selection form:

  • Choose the course selection form for the semester you are planning on attending.
  • Login information you created for the application portal. 
  • Enter the number of classes you are signing up for (you can add additional classes using this form too)
  • For each course add the following:
    • Where are you taking this course? (are you taking the course on one of our campuses, online, through the Montana Digital Academy, or at your high school)
    • Course Title - Include the course number and title (e.g. M 115 Probability and Linear Math). If you are not exactly sure what the course number and/or title are, enter the information you do have. 
      • For classes through your high school or Montana Digital Academy, you will next enter your Instructor's name. 
      • For online classes you can enter the Course Request Number (CRN). This is a 5-digit number that is unique to each class. If you do not know the CRN, you can leave this blank.
      • For on campus courses, please select which campus you are taking your course(s) through. You may then enter the Course Request Number (CRN). This a 5-digit number that is unique to each class. If you do not know the CRN, you can leave this blank.
      • After you are all done press 'Submit'!
