Dear UM Community,

As the end of fall term approaches, I want to say a heartfelt thank you for your hard work and dedication to UM. Thanks to your unwavering commitment to students, we are collectively changing lives and fostering inclusive prosperity on a daily basis. This is noble and important work, and I am grateful for the role each of you play in making this possible.

To celebrate you and the University's bright future, we are inviting the entire UM family to a campus holiday party from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, in the UC Ballroom. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us. While the smaller holiday gatherings of the last two years offered a great opportunity to reconnect, we look forward to this chance to join together and toast you – UM’s faculty and staff –  and your many accomplishments.

In addition to cookie decorating, good music, notes of gratitude and excellent food and drinks, we also invite willing employees to participate in our first annual ugly sweater contest this year. While not required, we look forward to seeing your creativity and festive attire!

For those new to UM, this is a casual holiday celebration so you do not need to dress up. Also, while we’d love to include family members, this event is limited to UM employees due to space constraints.
