Biography

Kevin Young is an award-winning poet, author, essayist, and the poetry editor for the New Yorker magazine. In addition to two award-winning books of nonfiction, Young is the author of 13 books of poetry, and editor of several poetry collections. His work on the poetry of grief includes the collections Dear Darkness (2008) and Book of Hours (2014), as well as an anthology The Art of Losing: Poems of Grief and Healing (2010). Young is also a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and a Fellow of the Society of American Historians and a Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets.
