Welcome to Academic Affairs at The University of Montana! I have the privilege of serving as the Chief Academic Officer of this fine institution, and I am proud to say that The University of Montana offers one of the richest learning environments of any campus in the nation. The focus here is on the student and on discovery. The undergraduate program offers an exciting array of fields of study in both the liberal arts and professional disciplines, complemented by a wide range of enrichment experiences such as study abroad, undergraduate research, and service-learning. Graduate programming is available through doctoral work in many areas, and expansion of graduate offerings is one of the many strategic initiatives of the University. Research and creative scholarship abounds, and some of the world’s leading scholars are found at The University of Montana. Students benefit from research and creative scholarship through direct involvement in projects and through knowing that the latest results find their way into the classroom. The academic program is backed up by excellent library and technology resources, an academic support system designed to help students thrive academically, a strong Student Life program, and excellent facilities. In combination with a tremendous selection of social and recreational activities on-campus and off, it is hard to find an atmosphere more conducive to learning.

The faculty, staff, and administration at The University of Montana are committed to learning, and that means their own learning as well as that of the students.
