Hives for Heroes Bee U Scholarship
The University of Montana Beekeeping Program is thrilled to collaborate with Hives for Heroes to offer the Bee U Scholarship, which reimburses military members, veterans, and first responders who successfully complete select courses in our program. This collaboration aims to support and empower veterans through educational opportunities and beekeeping initiatives.
Hives for Heroes is a national non-profit service organization focusing on sustainability, conservation, and providing a healthy transition from service. Through their national network of beekeepers, they provide connection, purpose, and healthy relationships, through access, resources, and funding for Service Members, Veterans, and First Responders.
The Bee U Scholarship is offered for UM courses completed during 2024 and subsequent years. Hives for Heroes will provide reimbursement of course fee directly to the student.
Eligibility
To apply for the scholarship, you must be a military member, veteran, or first responder who has successfully completed one of our Master Beekeeper Pathway courses in 2024 or later:
How to Apply
- Successfully register, pay for, and pass an eligible course.
- After receiving a final grade and confirmation that you have passed the course, submit a Bee U Scholarship Application. To be considered, you must submit all required documents including: UM Certificate of Completion, UM Payment Receipt, and proof of military/first responder status.
- Hives for Heroes will process your application and contact you regarding reimbursement.
