Personal Summary

Since the early days of her academic career, Emily has found a particular interest in applying statistical methods to answer real-world questions. Specializing in the market for breeding and selling Thoroughbred racehorses, she publishes research targeted to both academic and practitioner audiences. As a marketing professor, Emily loves mentoring young people and helping them nurture their academic passions. She strives to bring the real-world into textbook learning and enjoys a dynamic and interactive classroom.

Emily holds a Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky in Marketing, along with a B.S. in Business from Indiana University and an MBA from Xavier University. Prior to her career in academia, she worked in consumer retail banking and private bank lending. When not at her desk, you can likely find Emily hiding out somewhere in the Montana forest. She’s an avid mountain biker who is a head coach for the Missoula Mammoths, our local middle and high school mountain bike race team.

She won the Outstanding Faculty Award in Marketing for 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2023.
