UM Student Canvas Login Questions
-
If you are registered for classes and experiencing Canvas login issues, you might have a tuition bill that is past due and your access to Canvas was paused. Payment arrangements can be made by visiting Student Financial Services (SFS) located on the 5th floor of Aber Hall, or calling them at (406) 243-2223, or emailing StudentAccounts@umontana.edu, or paying via GrizPortal. Once your account is paid in full or a payment plan is arranged, Canvas access will be restored within 24-48 hours.
If you have assignments that are due in Canvas, please email your instructor to let them know of the situation, if you feel comfortable doing so.
-
If you are having trouble logging into Canvas, you might not have a Canvas account yet. You must be registered for classes to have a Canvas account. Check your schedule in GrizPortal (formerly CyberBear) to make sure you are registered and have completed your course registration—and to avoid late course add/drop fees.

UM Faculty and Staff Canvas Login Issues
If you are a faculty or staff member experiencing Canvas login issues, you might not have a Canvas account yet. Faculty Canvas accounts are created automatically when the faculty member is assigned as the primary instructor of a course in Banner. UM employees (both staff and faculty) can request a UM Employee Canvas account by completing a Solutions Center request form. All employee logins for Canvas require a valid Net ID and password.
