Montana Breastfeeding Learning Collaborative
The Montana Breastfeeding Learning Collaborative (BLC) is Montana’s premier conference on infant nutrition and lactation support. This learning event provides the attendee with professional development opportunities and current clinical and practical lactation support knowledge.
The 2023 BLC will return to an in-person conference at Fairmont Hot Springs from 8:30am-4:00pm on Tuesday, March 28. The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative & WIC Meetings (12:30pm-4:30pm) & Pre-conference sessions (2:15-4:30pm) will be held on Monday, March 27 (prior to the BLC). This year’s support topics include: Indigenous Perinatal Health; Tongue-Tie (AAP Updates); Milestones; Breastfeeding & Incarcerated in Montana; Birth Weight, Bilirubin, & Blood Sugar; Microbiome/Epigenetics.
*Pre-conference Session: Two sessions will also be available to the general public during the WIC/BFHI meetings on the afternoon of Monday, March 28 for an additional nominal fee of $25 (must register to join the sessions). “Becoming LGBTQ+ Breast/Chest Feeding Friendly; DMERs (Dysphoric Milk Ejection Reflex) / Over Supply”. Target Audience: physicians, nurse practitioners, lactation specialists, WIC clinic staff, public health professionals, hospital staff, health clinic staff, dietitians, nurses, and other interested healthcare advocates.
