Kalispell is located in the Rocky Mountains of Western Montana, about an hour south of the Canadian border. As Montana's seventh largest city with a population of approximately ~26,000, Kalispell offers one of the best backyards in the country with ample outdoor opportunities. Glacier National Park is a half-hour east and 15 minutes south is Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi River.

Serving the Flathead Valley, Greater Valley Health Center is a Federally Qualified, non-profit community health center offering integrated primary medical and dental services, outpatient behavioral health, medication assisted therapy, and substance use disorder treatment.  The main clinic is located in Kalispell with a satellite clinic in Hungry Horse.  GVHC provides behavioral health services in seven schools throughout the Flathead Valley and provides medical services at three school based health centers in Kalispell and Evergreen.

For those who were willing to share their income level, eighty-five percent of the GVHC patient population is below the 200% Federal Poverty Level. The clinics see a wide variety of patients of all ages providing a full spectrum of family medicine services including pediatric care, wellness, chronic disease management, hormone therapy, and HIV/AIDS and HVC testing, treatment and case management. Residents care for patients throughout pregnancy, delivering their continuity patients at Logan Health in Kalispell.

With the acquisition of Sykes Pharmacy in Kalispell and Columbia Falls, GVHC now has 3 clinical pharmacists on site that complements the health center’s 340B medication program.

Logan Health is a nonprofit, 622-bed health system in Montana.   • Logan Health Medical Center, the flagship hospital of Logan Health, is a 192-bed acute care regional referral center, offering full spectrum of health care services one might only expect of a large metropolitan area. Logan Health Medical Center is especially well known for its programs in cardiovascular care, oncology, neuroscience and spine care, orthopedics, women’s health, surgical care, pediatrics and behavioral health provided by more than 500 providers and 3,000 employees.

  • Opened in the summer of 2019, the 190,000 square foot Logan Health Children’s facility was created to provide local access to high quality pediatric specialty care close to home, including the largest group of fellowship-trained pediatric specialists in the state. Highly skilled, highly trained medical staff, nurses, therapists, social workers and other health care professionals deliver pediatric care in an environment appropriate for children. With a 30 inpatient beds including a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and an acute care pediatric unit as well as dedicated spaces for family caregivers, Logan Health Children’s has become a pediatric health care destination, saving the lives and improving the health of children across Montana.

Getting There

Kalispell is accessible through Glacier Park International Airport and via the Amtrak Empire Builder train line, which makes stops in nearby Whitefish and Glacier Park.
