In You at UM, first-semester students work to integrate their academics into their lives and curiosities. Students expand their academic curriculum to include extracurricular activities, bucket list items, curiosities, and interests. Ideation is one of our core practices. This class challenges students to think beyond career titles and job responsibilities. At the end of the curriculum, students have many directions they can explore during their time at UM while still on the pathway of achieving a timely graduation and their goals.
We call this customizing your academic pathway.
Our instructional teams support students in the classroom and help them connect with professionals, resources, and opportunities. Our goal is to help students explore, integrate, and test their ideas out so that when they reach their college graduations, they are on their way to living a well-designed life.
