Mansfield Civic Foundations Tour
Where America's Founding Principles Meet Montana's Legacy of Public Service
The Mansfield Center is excited to announce the Mansfield Civic Foundations Tour, an interactive, traveling, educational exhibit that will visit schools across Montana. The tour features the Montana Tapestry panels, made by the Montana Historical Society, which explore Montana history at the time of the country's founding, and interactive educational games that challenge students' knowledge and bring history to life.
In addition to the exhibit, the Mansfield Center will be sharing ready-to-use curriculum that explores the legacy of Senator Mansfield and his critical role in American history. The curriculum includes short, engaging videos and corresponding lesson plans developed in partnership with experts on Senator Mansfield’s legacy, such as Regents Professor Emeritus of History and Founding Director of the Mansfield Center, Dr. Paul Lauren. These materials will empower Montana’s next generation of leaders to embody Senator Mansfield’s principles of integrity, humility, and public service.
Together, the exhibit and the curriculum anchor Montana's legacy of public service and civic duty within the broader scope of America's founding and history. Students will gain a deeper understanding of Montana's rich history and feel inspired to be engaged citizens.
