Welcome to the 68th Annual Montana Science Fair

The 2023 Montana Science Fair will be held at the University of Montana Adams Center on April 3, 2023.  The competition will be poster only (no quad chart, no slide show, no video) and will follow all ISEF Display & Safety Rules.

The Awards Ceremony will be held on April 4, 2023, in the UC Ballroom, live stream via Zoom available. Two Division I students will qualify to compete at the Regeneron ISEF Fair. and top-tier Division II projects will qualify to compete at the Middle School Competition.

The Montana Science Fair has been a major event at the University of Montana, Missoula, since 1955. Science and engineering fairs motivate young people to develop creative and higher-order thinking skills as well as communication and problem-solving skills.  The Science Fair program is one of the most effective ways to interest students in careers in science, mathematics, engineering, and related fields.  Our program has reached over 20,000 students throughout Montana’s schools.

We are proud to bring together many of Montana's brightest young scientific minds in recognition of their hard work and in celebration of their potential for moving our state forward.

HOW THE COMMUNITY CAN GET INVOLVED! More information on Judging & Volunteering.

Thanks to a generous donation from Dr. Walter Peschel and the Chronic Disease Foundation, we will be sending four students and two adult chaperones to the 2023 Regeneron ISEF (link) competition in Dallas, TX!!

The Montana Science Fair is open to all middle school students grades 6-8 (Division II) and all high school students, grades 9-12 (Division I).
