Personal Summary

Kiersten is originally from the state of Michigan, but has spent time in states across the country pursuing a career in music. After receiving a bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University, Kiersten relocated to Louisiana for a Master's degree, and then to Colorado to pursue a Doctorate. As a performer, Kiersten specializes in pit orchestras for operas and musicals, and enjoys playing all genres of music, with experience ranging from blues to funk to classical. Kiersten's various degrees have given them experience in serious research on top of performing. At the University of Montana, Kiersten is an Academic Advisor for the School of Music, working with undergraduates across multiple degree paths. Kiersten is also a member of the International Trumpet Guild (ITG) and Mu Phi Epsilon, a co-ed international professional music fraternity.
