Hello Student,
Even without COVID-19 and all its extenuating circumstances, the transition to college can be intimidating. But at the University of Montana, you already have a number of people in your corner, ready to help, before you even arrive on campus. As much as we are here for you, making friends who are your peers is also important. And we have a great way for you to do that — join our new Facebook group for the incoming class of 2020! You can join the conversation here.
If you have parents or family members who are interested in meeting other families of incoming students, they can join their own conversation, too! We have created a Facebook group just for them.
Let’s face it — this is a weird summer and it is going to be a very different start to the fall semester. Because of that, we have started a group on campus called Keeping UM Connected, and its sole purpose is to create online, virtual and in-person events and social activities throughout the summer so you can meet new friends, get acquainted with campus and even learn more about some of us. Check back on the Keeping UM Connected website for an updated list of upcoming events and we will cross-post on the Facebook page and our other social media accounts, as well. This is a great way for you to get connected with your incoming peers, but also with current UM students.
Stay healthy, Griz! We look forward to seeing you on campus this fall. In the meantime, we’ll see you online!
And not to nag, but if you have not yet done it — first-year students should complete Online Bear Tracks and register for New Student Orientation, while transfer students should complete the Online New Student Orientation. Get going, Griz! You need to get these done so you can register for classes. We absolutely do NOT want you to miss out!
See you soon,
