Hi,
Summer is cruising along and we are making final preparations to welcome you to campus for move-in, New Student Orientation and your very own Big Sky Experience (BSE). All of these events occur the week of Aug. 22-26 and are designed to not only give you time to settle in to your new home, but also to set you up for a successful and exciting start to your UM journey.
Our award-winning New Student Orientation program includes a unique immersion project, called the Big Sky Experience. Each of these special activities are curated by a campus or community organization to provide you time to get to know what they do and how they support the Missoula community, while also allowing you to participate in some kind of group-based project or activity.
Each BSE group is led by a UM Advocate student mentor, and while you will remain with this same set of peers all week long, the Big Sky Experience itself lasts about six hours across two days during the week of Orientation.
It’s time to select your Big Sky Experience!
Click in to each item to view a short description of the site and planned activities. Also, note accessibility information is included where relevant at the end of the description in bold. Space is limited, so be sure to select your desired BSE soon! Students who do not select a site ahead of time will be assigned to an open spot when they arrive for New Student Orientation check in on Monday, Aug. 22 from 12 – 6 p.m.
We look forward to seeing you in August. Check out the full New Student Orientation schedule of events here.
Feel free to call us with questions, concerns or if anything comes up.
Go Griz!
