Hi,

The time has come for you to register for the Big Sky Experience, Aug. 21-25, and select your desired site activity. With 40+ campus and community partners there is surely something for everyone. These activities represent about 6 hours over two different days during our award-winning week of welcome, so feel free to pick anything that sparks your interest!

Register Here for Your  BSE Site Activity

Students will be placed into small groups of 20 based on the site they pick, and you will remain with this group and your assigned UM Advocate leader for the duration of the week-long program. In addition to your site activities, the week beings with residence-hall move in, and you will participate in essential information sessions and peer-led activities, get to meet your academic home on campus, and spend time becoming more familiar with our University and all it has to offer. You can view the full Big Sky Experience schedule here.

As a reminder, all incoming students will be asked to complete their online New Student Orientation program, available in Bear Tracks starting early August.  Traditional-aged first-year students are also expected to attend the Big Sky Experience Aug. 21-25, but we do encourage adult learners and transfer students to consider attending as well.

Residence hall move-in day and our week of welcome will be here before you know it, and we want you to be ready to start your college journey with everything you need to be successful.

All incoming students should keep an eye on your Bear Tracks checklist, as new items to complete will appear from time to time.

Let me know if there is anything we can help with regarding your transition to the University of Montana. We are here for you every step of the way.

Talk to you soon, Griz!
