Hello,

Moving away from your family and friends can be tough for anyone, but leaving close-knit communities such as Native American reservations can be even more challenging. For those students looking for a Native home on campus, please know American Indian Student Services (AISS) is working to support you as a person and a student.

Incoming Native students and their families are invited to a special lunch event - Moving Camp - on Tuesday, Aug. 22 from 12- 2 p.m., immediately following the morning’s Big Sky Experience activities.  Join AISS, the Native American Studies department and our Tribal Outreach specialist for this important event.

AISS hopes to provide a sense of community and a source of support while you are a student at the University of Montana. If you want to know more, or if you need assistance completing any paperwork related to federal aid, the Native American Tuition Waiver, or any other paperwork, now is the time to set up an appointment with AISS. Contact their office at 406-243-6306 or AISS@umontana.edu  At UM, we are here to help.

Looking to chat with other students who are starting at UM this fall? Join our ZeeMee group for the incoming class of 2027! You can join the conversation here.

See you soon, Griz!
