Commuting to campus by bicycle is a great way to start your day. Instead of sitting in traffic and looking for a parking space, imagine cruising along the Clark Fork River trail with an eagle or an osprey overhead, and finding a place to park right outside your morning class. On your bicycle, you can enjoy the fresh air, take in views of the Missoula valley and reduce traffic congestion and emissions. Beginning the Fall 23 semester, ASUM Transportation has a limited retail shop with bike supplies for the campus community. This includes lights, helmets, locks, and basic bike repair items. Visit our office in UC 115. 

Bicycle Friendly University

The University of Montana is one of a select number of institutions to earn the Gold-Level Bicycle Friendly University designation from the League of American Bicyclists. We have had this distinction since 2013.

The Bicycle Friendly University program evaluates universities efforts to promote bicycling in five primary areas: engineering, encouragement, education, enforcement, and evaluation.

The City of Missoula has also been ranked a Gold-Level Bicycle Friendly Community by the League since 2012, and is consistently ranked in the top 20 bicycling towns in the US. If you're looking for a great place to learn and ride, you've found it.
