Primary Functions

The Department of Educational Leadership at The University of Montana is seeking a full time, tenure track, assistant/associate professor of Educational Leadership. This position is to begin Autumn Semester, 2010.

  • Teaching of graduate-level courses in curriculum and administration
  • Graduate level advising
  • Chairmanship of doctoral dissertations
  • Doctoral dissertation committee service
  • The writing and presentation of online and face-to-face graduate courses
  • Participation in grant writing activities
  • Supervision of administrative interns, and the maintenance of an active scholarly publication agenda
  • Qualifications

  • Earned doctoral degree in Educational Leadership with a primary or supporting area in higher education, successful doctoral level cohort
  • Successful higher education teaching experience
  • Strong writing and editing experience
  • Successful doctoral dissertation committee experience
  • Experience in adult education
  • Successful state and federal grant writing experience
  • Successful internship supervision experience
  • Experience working with Native American populations
  • International teaching experience. Higher educational administrative experience preferred

    Educational Leadership is an active graduate department preparing graduate students at the masters and doctoral level to serve as school administrators, professors and administrators in higher education, and instructors and leaders in adult education and nonprofit environments. The department has a long and successful history of international and distance learning service. As pioneers in the field of distance education and doctoral cohort service, the department has completed sixteen successful doctoral cohort programs. Faculty members from the Department of Educational Leadership have worked as instructors and consultants with students in all of the United States as well as Canada, Europe, Asia and the Mid East.
