DiverseU 2020

October 27, 2020

Dear Campus Community,

These past months have been challenging ones for all of us, requiring flexibility in the face of an uncertain road ahead. Events also have served to lay bare the urgent need for all of us to do our parts to fulfill our nation’s promise of a just society.

And so, I invite our entire community to engage in the University of Montana's 15th annual Diversity Symposium. DiverseU 2020 will take place virtually Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 28-29. Look for the DiverseU tile on the UM App or visit DiverseU to view the full schedule. This entire event is free and open to every member of the UM family.

With more than 30 presentations covering a range of topics, DiverseU promotes understanding through civil discourse. It will include lectures, panels, discussions, music pieces, essay readings and video presentations. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members from Missoula to Egypt will discuss, present and perform in this campus-wide event.

Diversity is an essential component of academic excellence at UM, and our institution and democracy thrive only when we respect, welcome, encourage and celebrate the differences among us. I encourage you to learn more about DiverseU and make time to attend these presentations.
