Acting Provost Will Continue to Serve

March 23, 2021

Dear Campus Community,

I am pleased to share that Acting Provost Humphrey has agreed to continue serving as our Academic Affairs leader for the remainder of this academic year and into the next academic year. Provost Humphrey has been a valuable partner to me, a dedicated member of the UM family and a generous leader of our academic enterprise. Meanwhile, we will conduct a process to name a permanent provost, who will begin no later than the summer of 2022.

This timeline will allow us to complete the important academic planning process we began under Provost Humphrey's leadership. In partnership with UM deans, he will guide campus to a finalized plan and will facilitate its implementation.

Dean Marketa Marvenova of the Skaggs School of Pharmacy will continue to serve as the acting dean of the College of Health. Her stewardship will continue to ensure the well-being of the college. I am grateful for her service.

Provost Humphrey has inspired confidence in his ability to provide UM with consistent leadership as we seek to identify a permanent provost. I thank him for his partnership and willingness to serve the University.
