t-2-iodide foldamer
Crystal structure of meta-phenylene ethynylene-based triple helicate that binds two intrachannel iodide anions. Eight pseudo-square-planar halogen bonds assist in stabilizing the supramolecular complex. Each strand is depicted as a different color.
Charge-neutral hydrogen bond enhanced halogen bonding foldamer
Crystal structure of a charge-neutral meta-phenylene ethynylene-based foldamer. In the absence of anions this molecule forms a single helix that wraps around a THF molecule (removed for clarity). The helical hydrogen bonding array that helps stabilize the assembly is denoted by black dashes. The solid state packing is punctuated by the helices stacking to form nanochannels in the crystal structure. Carbons are colored grey, bromines are brown, nitrogens are red, fluorines are light blue and hydrogens are white.
