Upcoming Employee Recognition Events
Dear colleagues,
To recognize you – UM’s exceptional employees – and acknowledge our collective efforts this academic year, please mark your calendars and join me at these upcoming events:
- By 3 p.m. Thursday, April 3: Nominate colleagues for the 2025 Week of Excellence Employee Awards. With 18 individual awards and one team award, there are numerous ways to recognize and celebrate our many co-workers who go the extra mile.
- Friday, April 25: Celebrate the first day of UM’s newest tradition, “Spring Stretch,” by attending (or volunteering for) the UM Conference on Undergraduate Research and its associated events. More information about “Spring Stretch,” which will include numerous events from April 25 to May 10, is forthcoming.
- Monday, April 28: Week of Excellence begins! Check the webpage for details on the series of events that make up Week of Excellence, including information about Stress Less events open to employees that week.
- Wednesday, April 30: All employees are invited to the Week of Excellence Employee Celebration Breakfast from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the UC Ballroom. I’ll present a campus update before we recognize our 2025 Week of Excellence Employee Award winners, new retirees and employees celebrating longevity milestones.
- Wednesday, April 30: Organized by the UM Advocates, Share Kindness Day features free activities for employees and students, including a Kindness Fair with Yoga on the Oval. I encourage you to write a few notes of gratitude to colleagues, or simply tell them what you appreciate about them, on Share Kindness Day.
- Thursday, May 1: Visit the Montana Museum of Art and Culture Employee Open House between 12-6 p.m. to explore the new exhibition and receive free swag. A special docent tour of the museum is scheduled for 2 p.m.
- Sunday, May 4: Join Monte at Glacier Ice Rink from 2-3 p.m. for the May the Fourth Be With UM ice skating party. At this special event for UM employees, students, and our families, the first 350 people to arrive will receive free admission, and the first 100 will get free skate rentals.
Thank you again for your dedication to UM. I look forward to these opportunities for our community to come together and celebrate.
