UM's Model United Nations Team Earns Distinguished Delegation Award at Conference
The University of Montana’s Model United Nations team earned a Distinguished Delegation award at the National Model United Nations conference in New York while representing Viet Nam. This recognition - putting the UM team in the top 10 teams competing at the conference - reflects the students’ hard work, preparation, and professionalism at one of the country’s most competitive collegiate Model UN conferences.
The award recognizes the team's strong research, diplomacy, public speaking, and collaboration as they represented Viet Nam in committee sessions with delegations from around the world. It recognizes individual talent as well as the team's ability to work together under pressure in a demanding setting.
This award highlights the strength of UM's Model UN program and the dedication of the students who continue to represent the University at a high level on the national stage.
Congratulations to the team and to their faculty advisor, Dominic Beccari, for this achievement!

UM Dance Returns from Successful Conference
The University of Montana School of Theatre and Dance’s Dance Program recently returned from a successful trip to the American College Dance Association Northwest Conference in Las Vegas, where 23 UM dancers joined peers from 37 other colleges and universities for four days of classes, workshops and performances. Immersing themselves in 104 classes and viewing 70 dances, students explored new styles and pushed their artistic boundaries. UM Dance also presented three choreographic works: current Dance major Aundrea Johnson’s Case_404: Simulation Active, praised as “striking” and a powerful expression of female empowerment; Associate Professor Brooklyn Draper’s pulse, chamber, a “masterful” work that was selected for the prestigious closing Gala; and guest artist and UM alum Maeve Fahey’s Iron String, a thought-provoking piece on individuality in the age of social media.
