Canvas Restored
UM students and employees,
Canvas was restored last night for all students and employees.
Please proceed with the conclusion of the semester as planned.
Given yesterday’s service disruption, all instructors should take a flexible but consistent approach to addressing this disruption to ensure all students have the same access to any accommodation that is made. Any mitigation should be offered to all students in the course and be consistent with any Office for Disability Equity plans for specific students.
For students, please continue working with your instructors to address any lapses in coursework as a result of the service disruption.
For instructors, the grade submission deadline will remain 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 13.
Instructure, the company that operates Canvas, has created a webpage to provide updates on the status of service disruptions. Please use this as a resource as you log back on to the platform.
Lastly, please be mindful about the security risks associated with digital technology. Avoid phishing and other data scams to ensure UM’s data resources remains as secure as possible. If you sense any security risks, please take the appropriate steps outlined on the UM IT Security webpage.
