Chuck Maes

Worked tirelessly for the betterment of Grizzly Athletics

A native of Anaconda, Chuck Maes came to UM in 1979 to study accounting and management. After earning his degree in accounting and management in 1985, Chuck worked in UM’s business services office as a fund accountant. Chuck’s career progressed to Grizzly Athletics, where he spent over a decade running business operations before transitioning to roles in which he oversaw facilities, home sporting events and internal operations for nearly 30 years.

At retirement, Chuck serves as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Facilities and Events. Chuck was honored at the last Griz Football game he oversaw on August 31, 2026 (see photo, left.) His wife Brenda, daughter Lauren, her husband and two of Chuck’s grandchildren joined him on the field, where he received a momentous round of applause.
