At the undergraduate level, students can complete either an English major with a Teaching option or an English Teaching minor. In addition to completing the coursework requirements in the English Department, students who pursue the major or the minor must gain admission to the Teacher Education Program, apply and be accepted to student teach, and meet the requirements for licensure as a secondary teacher. Admission to the Teacher Education Program is limited; deadlines for application are September 15 and February 15.
