Join us for a workshop series designed to deepen your understanding and enhance your ability to support American Indian and Alaska Native students. Whether you're currently mentoring Native American students or simply curious about how to be a more culturally responsive educator, this series invites you into a space of learning and reflection.
Facilitated by Jennifer Harrington, Native American Natural Resource Program Director at the W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation, this two-part series is open to faculty, graduate students, staff, and administrators.
In our first session, led by Kqyn Kuka, Tribal Liaison for Montana Fish, Wildlife, & Parks and the U.S. Department of the Interior, we’ll engage in guided dialogue to explore the lenses through which we view the world—and consider how greater awareness of these perspectives can foster more authentic and respectful mentorship.
In our second session, led by Maegan Rides At The Door, Executive Director, National Native Children's Trauma Center, we will consider how cultural humility can strengthen our relationships with Native American students.
As this is a two-part series, we encourage you to register for both sessions although you're welcome to join either session if that is what works for you and your schedule.
The Indigenous Mentoring Program is supported by the Office of Organizational Learning and Development, the Native American Natural Resource Program Director at the W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation, and the Coalition for Indigenous STEM.
