Interlibrary Loan has a new request system
Starting July 1, the Mansfield Library has moved to a new Interlibrary Loan platform. You no longer need to log in to a separate ILL account.
Your prior ILLiad request history did not carry over to the new system. We have access to the old platform until the end of fall semester. If you would like a copy of your request history, contact the ILL department and we are happy to send it to you.

How requesting an item works now
There is no longer a separate ILL account to set up and no password to remember, it is now part of your library account. Just submit a request, and we will handle the rest.

Log in and fill out a short form for the item you need and submit.

Our ILL staff locate the item at a partner library and request it on your behalf.

Articles arrive as a download link by email. Physical items are held for pickup at the Circulation desk — we will let you know when it is ready.

No. Requests are submitted through a web form using your NetID to confirm you are a current UM student, faculty, or staff member. There is no separate account to manage.

This is a change from the old system where renewals could be submitted by the user to then be processed by the ILL department. If you would like a renewal for your ILL item, or to cancel a request, please reach out to us directly at Tel: 406-243-6736, email: library.ill@mso.umt.edu

You can log into your library account to view the status of requests. When an item is ready to download/pick up you will receive a notification from the library. Please make sure circ@library.umontana.edu is in your address book so notifications do not end up in spam.

ILLiad accounts and request history did not transfer to the new system. We have access to the old platform through the end of fall semester. If you would like a copy of your past request history, contact the ILL department and we will export a copy of it for you.

Yes! We are happy to ship items to our UM affiliated patrons located more than 50 miles from Missoula. There is a section in the request form to indicate that you want the item shipped to you. Please also include the address you would like the item shipped to in your request. Any article requests will be delivered as a PDF to your university email, so your location will not affect the delivery process.

Yes! We offer our Resource Sharing service to non-university affiliated patrons, known as Montana Borrowers. You will fill out the same form and a request will be sent to TRAILS, our consortium of Montana academic libraries.
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer ILL services to Montana Borrowers.
