19 Under 39 Open Call
Stay tuned for our open call for artists in fall 2026 for a juried exhibition of young Montana artists opening in the Spring of 2027. Artwork from 19 contemporary artists between the ages of 19 and 39* will be included in an exhibition at the Montana Museum of Art and Culture at the University of Montana in Missoula, MT. Artists working in all mediums and content are encouraged to apply. The winning 19 artists will have their work displayed in a museum exhibition in the spring of 2027 (submitted artwork must be available to exhibit). The top three winners earn the following cash awards and their works will be added to the MMAC Permanent Collection:
First Place Prize: $10,000
Second Place Prize: $5,000
Third Place Prize: $3,000
People's Choice Award: $2000
*Artists born between 1/1/1987 and 12/31/2007 are eligible to apply.
