Hello again,
Welcome to the Griz family! We have some great information regarding New Student Orientation for you. Remember, students who confirmed their enrollment in Bear Tracks were automatically registered for their appropriate orientation program.
We are hard at work preparing to welcome all new first-year students to our award-winning on-campus New Student Orientation Aug. 22-26. Don’t forget, transfer students should complete their Online New Student Orientation, but are also welcome to join us in person if you would like. And we certainly can’t forget about parents and families who are welcome to join us for activities Aug. 22-23. You can view the full schedule here.
The Big Sky Experience (BSE) is an immersive program that takes place during the weeklong New Student Orientation program. Later this summer, students will be able to select their preferred BSE from a variety of options, which will determine the group you remain with for the whole week! Keep an eye on your inbox for information on how to select your BSE in a couple more weeks. Want a sneak peek? View some of this year’s partners here.
At UM, we get students out into the world to experience hands-on learning as much as possible. First-year students are invited to consider the Flathead Lake Biological Station pre-orientation trip, which is an off-campus overnight cabin camping outdoor and science-based opportunity for 20 incoming students. Only a few slots remain! Find all the details and a link to register here.
Let us know if there is anything we can help with regarding your transition to the University of Montana. We are here for you.
Talk to you soon, Griz!
