Spring 2022 Commencement

We invite the class of 2022 (spring and summer 2022 degree candidates) to the Spring 2022 Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 14, 2022, in the Adams Center.

Morning Ceremony at 9 a.m.

Graduates should plan to begin arriving at the Adams Center at 8 a.m., and no later than 8:30 a.m.

Afternoon Ceremony at 2 p.m.

Graduates should plan to begin arriving at the Adams at 1 p.m., and no later than 1:30 p.m.

The morning ceremony livestream will begin at 8:40 AM MDT. 

The afternoon ceremony livestream will begin at 1:40 PM MDT.


Please visit the Spring 2022 Commencement Day map for information on parking, shuttles, entrances and closures.

Parking on campus is free on Commencement Day, all lots are open for Commencement parking and reserved parking spots are open to all Commencement guests. Please do not park in ADA Accessible Parking unless authorized to do so. Quick Stop Parking spots are for 20 minutes or less. Please observe all construction closures.


Guests and Attendees

Doors will open for guest seating at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 14, for the morning ceremony and 1 p.m. for the afternoon ceremony. For seating accommodations, please see an Adams Center Usher. 

At this time, no ticket or RSVP is required for guests to attend the Spring 2022 Commencement Ceremony. UM will continue to monitor the everchanging circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic. Any potential updates or changes will be communicated to the degree candidates as they are made.

Interested in buying flowers for your graduates? The Commencement Group will be selling flowers the day of Commencement. You can pre-order now or purchase the day of.


The University of Montana offers access to Commencement through the use of dual stage ramps, arena elevators, sign language interpreters, real-time voice-to-text translation (captions) streamed and in-person, ADA seating for guests and students, ADA parking, and assistive listening devices (ALDs). GradImages will be taking photos of graduates as they walk across the stage. These photos will be available for purchase directly from GradImages. Please direct all questions to their Customer Service Department at (800) 261-2576, online at, or email They have a large team of customer care representatives ready to help graduates and family members with anything you may need.


Please RSVP using Marching Order. A link will be emailed to student email accounts after the late application deadline. Once you have RSVP’d, you will receive a confirmation. 


Last day to RSVP is April 8, 2022.


Regalia for degree candidates and faculty can be ordered through our provider Herff Jones. Cords and stoles will be available in the UM Bookstore. 


The last day to pre-order regalia is April 13, 2022. Pre-orders are expected to be delivered by May 6, 2022. 

A Herff Jones representative will be on campus with limited regalia on May 12-14 in UC 225. If you do not pre-order your regalia please plan to purchase your regalia on one of the previous days. Please note regalia is limited and first-come-first-served.
