Auditions
Auditions for the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance's productions of Mean Girls (directed by Chae Clearwood; music-directed by Jack Desmul; choreographed by Colleen Rosbarsky) and every every minute / nightnight (directed by Michael Legg) will be held on Sunday, September 13, in McGill 125 beginning at 10:30 a.m.
ALL current BFA acting majors and BFA musical-theatre performance majors are required to audition. All pre-BFA majors, BA majors, minors, majors/minors in other programs, UM employees, and community members are welcome and strongly encouraged to audition.
Please prepare:
- ONE contemporary monologue no longer than 60 seconds (written no earlier than 2000)
If you wish to be considered for Mean Girls, please ALSO prepare:
- ONE 60-second cut of a song (16-32 bars) showcasing contemporary musical-theatre and pop/rock elements. Please reference Mean Girls for style but please DO NOT sing a song from the show. Choose a similar contemporary musical-theatre, rock, or pop song that matches the style of the show.
Each audition can be a total of no more than either ONE or TWO minutes. Timing will begin IMMEDIATELY after your introduction.
BREAK A LEG! If you have ANY questions—especially if you are unable to audition in person and would like to know your options—please email Erin McDaniel ASAP (erin.mcdaniel@umontana.edu)!
