Mass Spectrometry Core Facility

Mission Statement

The Mass Spectrometry Core Facility (MSCF) is operated through the Center for Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics (CBSD) and the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The MSCF is funded by the NIH CoBRE grant to the CBSD, the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, the University of Montana (UM) Research Office and user fees. The goal of the MSCF is to provide support, expertise and infrastructure to UM laboratories that use mass spectrometry as a tool for quantitation and identification of small molecules and proteins and for the analysis of biomolecule structure and dynamics. We provide facilities for sample preparation, and software tools for data analysis.

When publishing a paper that uses the facilities of the MSCF, in addition to citing the COBRE grant (P30GM103546) please cite the Montana INBRE grant (P20GM103474).
