Fitness and Recreation Center Functional Corner

The Fitness and Recreation Center (FRC) is located on the north end of campus, next to the Adams Center. Our facility offers a variety of cardio and weight machines, free weights, a functional training area, three group fitness classrooms, locker rooms with dry saunas, squash and racquetball/handball courts and three multipurpose courts for basketball, volleyball or badminton.

Outdoor Program

Outdoor Program

Housed within the northeast corner of the FRC, next to Washington-Grizzly Stadium, is the Outdoor Program, which offers skill classes and trips, outdoor gear rentals and a ski/snowboard and bike workshop.

Climbing Wall

Climbing wall

One of the first things you'll notice in the Fitness and Recreation Center is the state-of-the-art climbing wall. Bouldering is available anytime the facility is open, and we offer top-rope (belay) climbing during specific hours when the wall is staffed. Classes and workshops are held through the Outdoor Program frequently at the wall so you can learn the basics or advance your skills.

Golf Course

UM Golf Course

Located on South Avenue, our picturesque nine-hole course is perfect for beginners to experienced golfers alike. A driving range and chipping green offer a practice area for all abilities. In the off season, the golf course is a favorite place for cross-country skiing and sledding.

Grizzly Pool

Grizzly Pool

Lap swims, adult coached swims, American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED certification lessons, inner tube water polo and recreational swim times are just a few of the activities at the Grizzly Pool. The pool is part of Campus Recreation membership, but it is also open to the public for a fee.

Racquetball, Handball & Squash Courts
