Off-Campus Dining Plan Terms and Conditions

  1. UM Campus Dining’s Off-Campus Dining Plan is designed for UM students, faculty, staff, retirees and affiliates of the University of Montana with an active Griz Card. Off-Campus Dining Plans cannot be substituted for a residential dining plan purchase requirement if you are a student living on campus.
  2. Four plan levels are offered. The Off-Campus Dining Plan can only be used at our new state of the art dining center. The more swipes purchased, the lower the cost per entry.

  1. Utilizing your dining plan: Off-Campus Dining Plans are activated the first day of orientation every fall semester and are available for use by opting to use Griz Card digital credentials (available to students only) or your active Griz Card ID card. Griz Cards are nontransferable.  The pictured cardholder is the only person who can use that card.  Griz Cards must be in readable condition.  If a temporary card is being used, you will be asked to provide a photo ID.
  2. The Off-Campus Dining Plan can be used anytime during the operating hours of the new dining center. Any unused dining swipes are forfeited at the end of the academic year. Dining swipes do not roll over to summer session or the next academic year. There are two exceptions where dining plans are not active during academic semesters:
  3. Thanksgiving week (Wednesday – Saturday. The dining hall reopens for dinner Sunday)
  4. Spring break (The dining hall reopens for dinner Sunday)
  5. Guests: Off-Campus Dining Plan holders can host a guest using an additional dining swipe, however the card holder must be present at the time and using a swipe for themselves as well.
  6. Off-Campus Dining Plans are nontransferable.
  7. Lost or stolen Griz Cards: Report missing Griz Cards immediately. Report your Griz Card lost online 24 hours a day or call 406-243-6943 during business hours, 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Once you report your Griz Card as missing, it is deactivated to prevent unauthorized use of your privileges including door access, ticket pick-up, dining plans, Bear Bucks and UMoney. Per the Griz Card Terms and Conditions, you are responsible for any activity with your Griz Card prior to reporting it lost or stolen. Payment and Cancellations

  1. Off-Campus Dining Plans must be paid for in full before an additional plan can be purchased. The additional plan cannot be combined with the original plan to create a lower cost per meal.
  2. Off-Campus Dining Plans may be purchased online at (Trail to provide link), in person at the Campus Dining main office in the Lommasson Center, Room 114, or the new dining center, or by calling (406) 243-6325.
  3. Please allow one business day from sign-up for the dining plan to be active on your Griz Card.
  4. Payroll deduction is available (for actively employed classified staff and faculty only) to purchase an Off-Campus Dining Plan. Payroll deductions are taken out over a 5 month period (10 biweekly payrolls) regardless of the number of swipes purchased and will start with the next available payroll cycle after signing up. The following shows the biweekly cost to the employee under a payroll deduction election.

When terminating employment with the University of Montana, pay period deductions will be deducted from your final paycheck and any remaining swipes on the plan will be removed from your Griz Card. Based on the amount paid and number of swipes used at the time of termination, UM Campus Dining will refund any monies overpaid or charge any monies due for your Off-Campus Dining Plan via your University account.

  1. Off-Campus Dining Plans may be canceled within two weeks of the date of purchase. After the two-week period, Off-Campus Dining Plans are nonrefundable.
