Frequently Asked Questions

The University of Montana currently has 6 fraternities and 4 Panhellenic sororities.

As an average member of a Greek organization, your time commitment will be around 4 hours a week or less. This typically includes a chapter meeting and dinner once a week. Depending on the week, there may be optional activities that you may want to participate in. These events include, but are not limited to philanthropy events, social events between houses or events hosted by the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Involvement.

Freshman are required to live on campus unless they have a permanent family residence in Missoula.

YES! Greek members are involved in a variety of activities, such as:

  • Advocates
  • Davidson Honors College
  • Global Leadership Initiative
  • Associate Students of University of Montana (ASUM)
  • Intramural, Club and Varsity Sports
  • Cultural Student Groups (Black Student Union, Latinx Student Union, etc.)
  • Religious and Spiritual Groups
  • Honors Societies (Order of Omega, Mortar Board, PsiChi, Pi Sigma Alpha, etc.)
  • And many more!

Service is an important aspect of Greek Life. You will find our students volunteering at:

Additionally, each Chapter has an individual organization that they donate to.
