International Education Week (IEW) | November 16-20, 2026
International Education Week (IEW) features a variety of international events throughout the week, celebrating global learning and international exchange. During this week, students, faculty, and staff come together to participate in events that highlight and promote cross-cultural understanding. Each day offers opportunities to engage with different aspects of global culture, and the week culminates on Friday with our finale celebration, Global Culture Night. Global Culture Night will showcase international cuisine, performances, fashion shows, and more, providing a vibrant experience that celebrates UMs diversity.
Weekly Events
✨ Monday, Nov. 16
- International Education Week Kick Off @UC Atrium (10:00–2:00PM)
Kick things off in the UC Atrium with music, energy, and global connections! Explore GEO units, Peace Corps, the International Student Association (ISA) & more at our information tables.
- French Club Film Screening: "Affection Affection" @UC Theater (6:00-9:30PM)
Screening "Affection Affection" followed by a short discussion led by French instructors.
🍴 Tuesday, Nov. 17
- Intercultural Lab: Iraq and Syria Night @International House (6:00-8:00PM) Provided by ISS & Soft Landing Missoula
Students from Iraq and Syria will share their cultures through a falafel bar and henna art. You can also learn how to write your name in Arabic!
☕ Wednesday, Nov. 18
- Travel Cafe @Starbucks (2:00-5:00PM) Presented by Education Abroad & Miller Hall Global LLC
Learn how to travel the world with international and returning Education Abroad students! Complementary coffee provided!
- Global Trivia Night @Starbucks (5:30-7:30PM)
How much do you know about the world beyond the borders of the United States? Join UM Dining at their Starbucks location for an evening of international trivia to help celebrate International Education Week and test your global knowledge!
- French Club Film Screening Day 2: “The Girl in the Snow” @UC Theater (6:00-9:30PM)
Screening "The Girl In The Snow" followed by a short discussion led by French instructors.
🎨 Thursday, Nov. 19
- Spanish Club: Spanish Tile Painting @International House (6:00-8:00PM)
Get artistic and try your hand at "Spanish Tile Paining" sponsored by the the Spanish Club.
- Russian Club: Matryoshka Doll Painting @ UC Commons (6:00-8:00PM)
Creativity abounds in this unique craft night with the UM Russian Club. Let's paint Matryoshka dolls together!
🌎 Friday, Nov. 20
- GLOBAL CULTURE NIGHT! @UC Commons (5:00–10:00PM)
- 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. Mix, mingle, and explore cultural information tables hosted by UM student groups and international offices across campus, enjoy a customized buffet of international cuisine from UM Catering
- 6:30 – 8:15 p.m. Enjoy a global fashion show, international performances, music, and dances from students and the UM community.
- 8:15 - 8:20 p.m. Community recognition
- 8:20–10:00 p.m.: Global Dance Party & Karaoke—bring your best moves!
