Join the Top Learners Challenge—AI Edition!
March 2-13, 2026
This challenge invites UM employees to explore an AI related topic on LinkedIn Learning that supports their work or sparks their curiosity—whether that’s AI for productivity, people management, ethics, sustainability, coding, or anything else that fits your interests. All UM employees have full access to LinkedIn Learning, making this a perfect chance to build new skills and connect with coworkers. Form a small team, watch a course together, and discuss what you learned. pressure, highimpact way to learn together and strengthen connections across campus.
Teams who complete the challenge will be entered into a raffle for a pizza party from UM Dining. Completing the challenge should only take about an hour, making this an easy way to learn together and strengthen connections across campus.
How It Works

- Teams must have 3-10 members.
- Groups must designate a captain that will and report back on the team’s learning.

- Each team member watches the same course. Reach out to the OOLD team if you would like suggestions or help finding a course.
- Register your team. You will need to enter: the name of the captain, all the team members, and the title of the course that you plan to watch.

- The course should be at least 30 minutes long.
- Everyone should watch the same course. You are welcome to watch together or separately.

- After watching, your group should hold a 15-30 minute discussion (in person or virtual) using the following questions.
- What is one skill or insight from the course that stood out to you, and why did it feel meaningful or relevant?
- What opportunities or challenges do you see for using what you learned—either individually or as a team—moving forward?
- If you were to continue exploring this topic, what would you want to learn next?
- Your team must watch the course and hold the discussion sometime from March 2-13.
- After watching, your group should hold a 15-30 minute discussion (in person or virtual) using the following questions.

- The team captain will be asked to summarize the group’s discussion (3 short prompts, 1-2 sentences each).
- Reflections must be submitted by Friday, March 13, at 3 p.m.
How the Winners Are Chosen
- Every team that completes the challenge will be entered into a random drawing. Teams who complete the challenge will earn one entry for each person in their group.
- The team that is selected as the winning team through the random drawing will earn a pizza party from UM Dining.
- Teams can earn one additional, bonus entry for each of the following, to be determined by OOLD:
- Most creative topic choice
- Most insightful reflection
- Best team collaboration (gathering unexpected colleagues together for a team)
- Most practical application of the learning going forward
- Best group name
